2019 MSILDG Christmas Research Meeting

MSILDG research meetings are historically informal, interesting, informative and inspiring.

The MSILDG 2019 Christmas Research Meeting is coming to London soon. The followings are currently scheduled. 

Date and time: Monday, 16 December 2019, from 8:30 to 19:30
Venue: Burlington House, RSC Headquarter, Piccadilly, London, W1J 0BA 
Inman Lecture Speaker: Prof. Karen Edler, University of Bath.

FAO all speakers: The time for each contributed oral presentation is 15 min which will be followed by a 10 minute Q&A session. Speakers are encouraged to submit a pdf version of their ppt slides (free of confidential information) to Prof. George Chen (george.chen/at/nottingham.ac.uk) for distribution to the audience to facilitate discussion following the oral presentation. Speakers (presenters) of all posters are requested to be present at their posters during the meeting’s break times to help and answer questions from viewers.

Information for registration: 
The registration fee for the 2019 Christmas Meeting has been set to a similar level as last year, plus inflation and an estimated impact of Brexit. It covers the followings:
  • attendance of the meeting, 
  • booklet of abstracts (and available electronic copies of the presentations)
  • buffet lunch, 
  • tea/coffee/biscuits in the morning and meeting breaks, and 
  • Cheese & Wine in the evening. 
(If it is your first time to attend an MSILDG event, such as this year's Christmas meeting, please be informed that your attendance automatically entitles you the MSILDG membership, unless you have specified otherwise.)
   
There are three categories of registration: (1) Regular delegate, £100.00, (2) Student and retired members, £75.00, (3) students giving an oral or poster presentation, £35.

Online payment for registration via PayPal is preferred, and can be made by firstly select the appropriate option using the drop-down arrow at the right side of the grey bar below, and then clicking the "Buy Now" button below. 

Registration options

With approval of the Treasurer (email your request to Prof. Anna Croft), bank transfer before the meeting or on-site payment for registration by cash, or a cheque, can be accepted. Without the treasurer's approval, on-site payment is also possible, but may incur 15% handling charge. 

Please be reminded that the Christmas Meeting is for one-day only, and attendees should arrange their own accommodation in London, if they need.
